you belong with me (rewrite)

you're sitting next to your girlfriend
she's laughing, she's cracking up
about something that you said
but she never love you like i do

i'm in my room
it's a typical friday night
i'm thinking about how to make you mine
you never feel the same way i do

but she wear dresses, i'm a mess
she's in choir and i'm bleachers
thinking about the day
when you wake up and find
that what you're looking for
has been here the whole time

if you could see
that i'm the one
who understands you
been here all along
so why can't you see
you belong with me

talking in the hallways
you and your gray hoodies
i can't help but thinking
"i'm way over him"
laughing on the bleachers
talking to my friends
"hey, isn't this easy?"

and you got a smile
that could light up this whole town
i haven't seen it in awhile
since y'all are going out
you smiled looking so happy
i know you better than that
he whatcha doing with a girl like that

she wear high heels, i wear sneakers
she's a model and i'm just a dancer
dream on about the day
when you wake up and find
that what you're looking for
has been here that whole time

if you could see
that i'm the one
who understands you
been here all along
so why can't you see
you belong with me
